Keynote Speaker - Roger Blackwell – former professor of marketing from The Ohio State University and current author. He co-authored Consumer Behavior; a textbook used by universities around the world, and wrote Brands That Rock, From Mind to Market, Customers Rule! and From the Edge of the World. Mr. Blackwell will analyze the many factors that led the nation into its current economic condition and offer a recipe for its recovery championed by consumer behavior. It’s not exactly the type of behavior that you would expect. Come hear Mr. Blackwell describe how short term pain will lead to sustainable long term growth and a refueling of the real estate industry.
Speaker - KC Conway, Colliers International - He worked for the Federal Reserve for 5 years and 20 years in the private sector before joining Colliers in 2010. As a witness to the economic meltdown of 2008-2009 while occupying a seat at the Federal Reserve, Mr. Conway will describe how key players such as Ben Bernanke and Timothy Geithner tried to steer out of the crisis and how such policies impacted the long awaited economic recovery. Mr. Conway will explain why the U.S. economy feels like riding shot gun with a sixteen year old learning to drive and whether the ”brake and throttle” pace of the economy is likely to continue in 2012. He will explore the most likely 2012 indicators that will either fuel or hamper our recovery and how these events will factor into the real estate industry. Finally, he will give an overview of the current state of the real estate industry, specifically focusing on the market analytics of Ohio and Central Ohio and other similar markets.
